Our carpet manufacturers provide specific care and cleaning instructions for their products. Always consult the manufacturer's guidelines before cleaning your new carpet. To assist you, we've compiled a general guide for the care, cleaning, and maintenance of your carpet.

Three Basic Requirements:

1. Frequent Vacuuming

Regular vacuuming not only eliminates dust and allergens but is crucial for preserving your carpet's lifespan. Dirt and soil wear down carpet fibres, leading to premature replacement. Vacuum twice a week for high-traffic areas and households with children or pets. Quieter homes can suffice with once a week.

   - Use plain upright suction vacuum cleaners.
   - Be cautious with turbo or revolving head vacuums, especially on wool or loop/textured/patterned carpets, as they might cause frizzing.
   - Adjust beater bar or vacuum head settings to the lightest option.
   - Long or shaggy carpets may require specific vacuum cleaner attachments to navigate through the pile effectively.

2. Periodic Professional Cleaning

While daily vacuuming is essential, professional deep cleaning revitalises your carpets, removes stubborn stains, and maintains a healthy home environment. Some warranties, especially for synthetic carpets, require professional cleaning every 12-18 months.

3. Prompt Spot Cleaning

Swift action is crucial for spot removal. Avoid scrubbing; instead, blot the spill with a clean white cloth or paper towel. Work from the outer edge towards the center to prevent the spill from spreading. Do not allow the area to stay damp, especially for wool carpets.

   - Scoop up or blot as much spill as possible.
   - Blot any residue with a clean cloth, working from the edges towards the center.
   - Avoid scrubbing, as it can push the spill deeper into the fibres.

Note: Certain spills, like soft drinks or coffee, leave sugar residues that attract dirt, causing discolouration. Proper cleaning and rinsing with water are essential to prevent this issue. For wool carpets, keeping the area dry is crucial.

Following these guidelines ensures your carpet stays vibrant, clean, and long-lasting, enhancing the beauty of your home.
