Correct floor preparation is vital for the practical and aesthetic performance of your new floor covering. The full extent of preparation is often revealed after existing floor coverings are removed and a comprehensive assessment is made on-site.

How long does a flooring installation take?

Carpet installations under 80sqm and flooring installations under 60sqm usually take one day. Larger installations may require two days or more. Time should also be allocated for floor preparation before applying your chosen floor covering.

Can I install my floor myself?

While some flooring types are easier to self-install than others, it's essential to follow manufacturers' installation standards for warranty validity. DIY installations can be challenging, so for a stress-free experience and to protect your investment, we offer full installation services.

How long will my order take to arrive?

This depends on several factors:

  1. Stock availability
  2. Your delivery location - rural or remote towns may take longer if multiple freight companies are required
  3. How long it takes our suppliers to dispatch an order

If all of the above factors are optimal and everything runs smoothly, orders generally take between 2 to 5 days.

Before our flooring teams arrive to install your new flooring, please ensure that the areas designated for the installation are cleared of all furniture. While our teams can assist in moving larger items, we kindly ask that you relocate all small items and electrical items beforehand, as we are not professional movers.

When should my flooring be installed during my building/renovation timeline?

As flooring is considered a finishing trade, it's essential to complete all other aspects of your build or renovation beforehand. Make sure that paintwork, electrical work, plumbing, and cabinetry are all finished prior to installation. Additionally, for floating floor installations, it's advisable to install skirting boards after the flooring to achieve a seamless finish.

You do not need to be home on the day of installation. Clear access to the installation area is essential. If you prefer to be present, avoid entering the installation area until the installer has finished, ensuring safety for all.

Why is there a colour variation between the sample and my new floor?

Slight colour variations between samples and bulk production dye lots are natural and within industry standards. Hard flooring, like wood and stone, is designed with natural-looking variations in knots, colours, and grains.

Do I have to pay a deposit?

A deposit is required for all jobs to secure products and labour for your project.

Does climate and environment effect my floor?

It's important to realize how your flooring interacts with the air around it, as this can affect its performance. Changes in temperature and humidity cause the flooring to expand or contract, leading to shifts in its dimensions. When it's humid or hot, the flooring absorbs moisture and expands, which can cause squeaks or creaks. Conversely, in dry conditions, it contracts. Unless your home has a controlled environment, your flooring will always adjust to its surroundings. As a homeowner, it's essential to understand that your flooring will keep adapting to its environment over time.

Can sunlight from windows and doors effect my floor?

Leaving your floors in direct sunlight for too long can cause them to fade, expand, contract, peak, or get damaged. To protect your floors, make sure to keep them out of harsh sunlight by using curtains, blinds, tinting or outdoor structures like pergolas and verandahs.
